What is an Prolapse Repair?

Pelvic organ prolapse results from weakened muscles in the pelvis, commonly from childbearing. Many women will feel increased pelvic pressure and often use the term “falling out” to describe the feeling they have when the bladder, uterus, or rectum prolapse, or sag, into the vagina. Approximately 25% of women over the age of 40 will suffer from the effects of pelvic organ prolapse.
